Nikki Ruoss, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Nikki Ruoss is a seasoned and dedicated Registered Nurse and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a wealth of leadership and clinical experience spanning 17 years of practice.   Nikki brings a diverse skill set and a strong commitment to high-quality evidence-based patient care.

Nikki’s work focuses on the treatment and medication management of mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and bipolar disorder.  She has a special interest in trauma, mindful-based therapy, and nutrition for mental health.  She has a passion for creating an environment for decreasing mental health stigma, and empowering individuals to achieve mental wellness and lead fulfilling lives.

Nikki’s interest in working with psychiatric patients began in the emergency department in a busy inner-city Los Angeles emergency room.  She experienced patients with severe mental illness, drug addiction, and trauma who were homeless and struggling to survive. After moving out of the city, while working as a hospital manager, Nikki also dedicated her time working in corrections and “street psychiatry” to further her knowledge, experience, and training in psychiatric care.

Nikki holds a certificate and is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Cincinnati.  She also earned a Master of Science in Nursing, Leadership and Management from Western Governors University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the same institution.  She holds a Multistate License as a Registered Nurse from South Dakota and California. Additionally, Nikki is a Board-Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN).

Nikki’s training includes work in a community health setting in rural southern Ohio gaining valuable experience in psychotherapy, addiction, medication management, and assessing and treating patients with acute and chronic psychiatric issues.
