Good Faith Estimate

Attention all uninsured patients or patients who are not using insurance for our services:

While we provide the costs of service up front, over the phone, to all of our patients when they first schedule an appointment with us, you also have the right to receive a written “Good Faith Estimate” of your mental health expenses at the Macks Psychology Group under the No Surprises Act implemented in January of 2022.

Under 2799B-6 of the Public Health Services Act, upon request, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

-You have the right to request and receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like psychotherapy, psychological testing, and speech-language services.

-You can ask us for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.

-If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.  Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Macks Psychology Group at 513-204-5746.
